corruption - a global phenomenon

Corruption is a worldwide phenomenon. This got established long back, now the issues are which country or which country's people are more corrupt & what is the level of corruption. Now a survey reveals corruption on a rise. Countries are sinking deeper into shady financial deals, bribery & influential peddling. The most corrupt in this list is Chad. It is a way of life everywhere. But then, if it is a way of life - why crib ? To this, experts believe that corruption is the single biggest blockade to socio-economic development. It is a cycle - wherein administration of developing countries resprt to scandalous & shady deals, it is then that these countries get poorer. They then receive foreign aid which also gets syphoned off ultimately making the poor even poorer & the rich even richer.
